The Brief: Replace an Edwardian-Style Glass Roof

Paul described an Edwardian-style conservatory with equal sides and sloping front and rear roof sections. He supplied approximate dimensions of 114 inches projecting away from the bungalow and 177 inches across the house.

The customer photographs show the original glazed roof and white internal roof bars before the replacement work.

The original enquiry

“Looking for a quote on a new conservatory roof. I believe it’s Edwardian style, with equal sides and the front and back sloping. Approximately 114 inches away from the house and 177 inches across the bungalow.”

— Paul P

After: A room to be enjoyed year round by the family (and Jeremy Kyle)

A More Room-Like Finish

Paul’s review describes the change as going from a glass roof to a flat roof. His photographs show a low-profile solid external finish with dark fascia and guttering.

Internally, the former glazed roof and roof bars have been replaced by a glossy white panelled ceiling with recessed downlights. The existing conservatory frames and brick base remain visible beneath the completed roof.

Paul said the change gave the conservatory a completely new look and made it feel like adding another room to the house. He also highlighted that the price was right.

★★★★★

“Fab job. Gives the conservatory a complete new look — love it. Glass roof to flat roof, like adding another room to the house. Most important, the price was right. Thank you, Direct Roofing & Building Ltd.”
